Introduction & Definitions
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Plaasmelk platform operated by PLAASMELK (Pty) Ltd (Registration Number 2026/114644/07), accessible at app.plaasmelk.co.za.
Plaasmelk is a farm-to-door milk delivery platform connecting local dairy producers with customers for scheduled fresh milk delivery.
In these terms:
- Platform — the Plaasmelk web application at app.plaasmelk.co.za
- Customer — a registered user who places orders through the Platform
- Producer — a dairy farm or producer that supplies products via the Platform
- Service Area — a geographic area where delivery is available
- Delivery Day — a scheduled day on which deliveries are made within a Service Area
- Order — a request by a Customer to purchase and receive products
Eligibility & Account
To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age or have the consent of a parent or legal guardian.
Accounts are created via Google OAuth sign-in. Each person may hold only one account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs under your Plaasmelk account.
Before placing orders, you must complete your profile with a valid phone number and delivery address. You are responsible for keeping your profile information accurate and up to date.
Products & Availability
Plaasmelk offers raw (unpasteurised) milk and dairy products sourced from local producers.
Product availability is subject to producer stock and may vary. We do not guarantee that any particular product will be available at any given time.
Our delivery service is limited to defined Service Areas. If your address falls outside a current Service Area, you may join our waitlist to be notified when service becomes available in your area.
All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Prices may change without prior notice; however, confirmed orders will be honoured at the price displayed at the time of ordering.
Health Disclaimer & Informed Consent
Consuming raw milk carries inherent health risks, including potential exposure to harmful bacteria such as Salmonella, E. coli, Listeria, and Campylobacter.
Individuals at elevated risk include pregnant women, young children, elderly persons, and those with compromised immune systems. These groups should consult a healthcare professional before consuming raw milk products.
Raw milk sold through the Platform is supplied in compliance with South African Regulation R1555 (Regulations Relating to Milk and Dairy Products).
By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these risks and confirm your informed consent to purchase and consume raw milk products.

Orders & Payment
Orders are placed through the Platform and confirmed via notification. An order is binding once confirmed.
We accept the following payment methods:
- Credit/Debit Card — processed securely by PayGate
- Instant EFT — processed securely by PayGate
- Cash on Delivery (COD) — payment collected at the time of delivery
Plaasmelk does not store your card details. All card transactions are handled by PayGate, and PayGate's own terms and privacy policy apply to payment processing.
Orders may be cancelled before the order status moves to "confirmed".
Delivery Policy
Deliveries are made on scheduled Delivery Days specific to each Service Area.
Delivery requires in-person handover. Products cannot be left unattended. Estimated delivery times are communicated on the day of delivery via the Platform's messaging system.
If delivery cannot be made in person (e.g. no one is available to receive the order), the delivery is marked as failed and the order is automatically re-processed for the next available delivery slot.
Plaasmelk makes best efforts to deliver on the scheduled Delivery Day but does not guarantee specific delivery times.
Risk and responsibility for the product transfers to the Customer upon successful handover. Once you have received your delivery, you are responsible for proper handling and storage of the product.
Returns, Refunds & Complaints
No returns are accepted. Milk and dairy products are perishable goods and cannot be returned once delivered.
If your delivery arrives damaged or you believe the product is spoiled, you must notify us within 2 hours of delivery.
For damaged goods: Photo evidence of the damage may be required when reporting the issue.
For suspected spoilage: We take product quality extremely seriously. Issues are resolved in good faith through direct communication between you and our support team.
At Plaasmelk's discretion, the following remedies may be offered:
- Replacement on the next scheduled Delivery Day (primary remedy)
- Account credit applied to your next order
- Refund to the original payment method
Reports can be submitted via support@plaasmelk.co.za or through the Platform's messaging system.
Plaasmelk reserves the right to refuse claims where evidence suggests improper handling or storage after delivery.
Limitation of Liability
Plaasmelk acts as a platform connecting Producers with Customers for the sale and delivery of dairy products.
Plaasmelk shall not be held liable for illness or adverse health effects arising from the consumption of raw milk where the Customer has been informed of the associated risks as set out in Section 4 of these terms.
Plaasmelk shall not be liable for product deterioration occurring after delivery due to improper storage or handling by the Customer.
In all cases, Plaasmelk's liability is limited to the value of the affected order.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under South African law, including rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.
Marketing Communications
Plaasmelk may send marketing communications (including email and push notifications) only with your explicit opt-in consent.
Transactional notifications — such as order confirmations, delivery updates, and status changes — are part of the service and are not considered marketing communications.
You may opt out of marketing communications at any time. Opting out of marketing does not affect transactional notifications.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) are fully preserved and nothing in these terms is intended to limit those rights.
Any disputes arising from these terms will be resolved in accordance with South African law.

Amendments
Plaasmelk reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
Material changes will be communicated via the Platform through push notification or in-app notice.
Continued use of the Platform after notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
